The most anticipated and talked about sneaker of the year is finally coming our way in a general release! Celebrating the iconic Air Max Day, the Sean Wotherspoon Nike Air 97/1 kicks will be on the market to buy for retail price. After winning Nike’s “RevolutionAir” design competition last year, it’s time to have these vintage inspired kicks get its global launch.
Wotherspoon combined his two favorite sneakers in one. The Air max 97 silhouette upper combined with an Air max 1 sole unit. The shoe consist of retro color palettes and corduroy material on the shoe. Velcro tongue tabs will also be included with the shoe so you can have the choice of the wave or swoosh logo.
If you’re not familiar with why Sean Wotherspoon chose this design, here’s a little fact on how his creativity flowed throughout this design. The shoe was inspired by the old school. Wotherspoon gained inspiration from vintage Nike hats, windbreakers and sneakers from the 80s and 90s. He also realized that his pastel colors go so good with a crisp white tee.
Some retailers have become excited about the air max release due to some trendy displays for the shoe.
Solebox will be selling the shoes directly out of an Air Max Sean Wotherspoon inspired van. How dope is that? Definitely a way to celebrate one of the most anticipated release.
Kith in Soho also set up a dope set inspired by the shoe, with a van, smiley face swoosh logo balls and of course the shoe set up pretty for all eyes to drool over.
The Sean Wotherspoon Air Max 97/1 will be releasing March 26th in the US and March 24th in Europe. They are set at $160 USD and with a wider range releasing I’m wishing everyone good luck on the cop because the last thing you want to face is a re-seller.
